Wholesale Plants

We have been supplying wholesale plants to the trade for 30 years.  You can find our full story on the About Us page but in the very early days after World War II David Whiteside grew and traded vegetables from a smallholding in Marlborough, Wiltshire.  David then began to offer a landscaping and gardening service to the area growing his own trees and plants. So began Elcot Nurseries.

In the subsequent years his three sons Peter, Richard and Mark joined the landscaping business and worked together on projects accross the South West and London until 1994.  Richard and Mark split from the landscaping business that year, taking on the plant growing operation and transforming it into a successful wholesale plant nursery, renamed Kingsdown Nurseries.  We now have the fourth generation working in the business.

Having our background in the landscaping trade, actually working with the plants we now grow and sell, has given us a unique and practical insight into the pains, pressures and needs of our industry.  Building on this knowledge we are able to offer a service and range of wholesale plants to the trade that deal with those pressures and meet those needs.

The consistent growth of Kingsdown Nurseries means our reach is now nationwide but with a concentration still in the Cotswolds, Thames Valley and London.

Our quality wholesale plants are divided into six main categories, Topiary, Hedging, Trees, Italian Plants, Bulbs and Shrubs and Perennials.  Each category is showcased with photos of our plants in the nursery, in the distribution process or on projects where they have been used. Availability downloads can be viewed and some will show trade prices once you are registered as a trade customer and logged in.
